Vidyarathna and Seethadevi share glory in Dian Gomes Boxing

Vidyarathana University College Horana and Joint Girls Champions Seethadevi College Kandy and Siri Perakum Girls College Nuwara Eliya emerged victorious in the Dian Gomes Challenge Trophy for Best School Boys and Girls Boxing Championship. The thrilling school boxing tournament took place from July 29 to August 2 at the Seevali Boxing Gymnasium in Ratnapura.

Narandeniya Central College Matara secured the title of Boys Championship Runner-up, while Ihalamulla Sri Weluwana Maha Vidyalaya claimed the position of Girls Runner-up.

In the Junior Boys Championship, Kandy Zahira Boys College Katugastota clinched victory, earning them the prestigious Herbert Embuldeniya Challenge Trophy. The Junior Girls Champions title was awarded to Vihara Maha Devi Balika Vidyalaya Kiribathgoda, who proudly claimed the Neiva Embuldeniya Trophy.

As for the Junior Boys category, Peradeniya Central College and host Seevali Central College Ratnapura achieved joint runner-up positions. Hemamali Girls College Kandy showed remarkable performance and became the Junior Girls Runners-up in the five-day meet.
