Viroshana Alwis – senior cricket coach of Moratuwa

He first played for the Under-12 Team under the guidance of Coach Kanishka Perera and Master-in-Charge Frank Cooray.

He scored over 250 runs with one fifty in the Under-12 Tournament and in the following year he passed the 200-run mark with a fifty in the Under-13 Tournament.

In the Under-19 Tournament he scored over 700 runs with six fifties under the guidance of veteran coach Neil Rajapakse.

After leaving school he played for Old Cambrians CC and Moratuwa SC in the Under-23 Tournament and in 2004 he made a tour to Bangalore, India with the Marian Cooray Academy.

Thereafter, he took to coaching and was in charge of St. Sebastian’s College, Kandana in 2018 to 2020 as the Assistant and Junior Cricket Coach.
