Visakha Vidyalaya, Colombo Zonal Girls Champions

Visakha Vidyalaya Colombo emerged Championship of the Colombo Zonal Inter Schools Girls’ Softball Cricket Tournament, organized by the Colombo Zonal Education Office recently.

Fifteen (15) teams participated in this tournament at Seevali ground Borella. Visakha Vidyalaya and Bishop’s College Colombo entered the final. Visakha Vidyalaya beat Bishop’s College Colombo by nine wickets in the final.

Visakha Vidyalaya beat St.Paul’s Girls School Colombo 4 by 36 runs in the quarter final. Visakha Vidyalaya beat St.Clare’s Girls School Colombo 6 by 111 runs in the semi final. Visakha Vidyalaya made the highest score in the tournament with 145 runs.

Champion Visakha Vidyalaya and runner up Bishop’s College Colombo 3 qualified to compete at the oncoming Western Province Inter Zonal Cricket (Girls ) Championship Tournament , which will be held at Colombo.
