National People’s Power (NPP) MP and JVP leader Anura Kumara Dissanayake said fraud, corruption and the waste of millions of public funds by politicians had contributed to aggravate the present economic crisis. He was addressing a Badulla District Convention of the NPP which was held at the auditorium of the Badulla Postal Complex recently.
He said prudent measures at strengthening the national economy and uplifting the living condition of the public should be taken immediately to recover from the crisis.
He said although the previous governments made so many promises in order to come to power they had failed to strengthen the national economy or uplift the living condition of the public.
Therefore, he said the NPP will not seek the support of any political party which ruled the country earlier to form a government and added his Party was confident of establishing a government in the future on its own.
