We work as a consultant body to Sports Minister says NSC Chairman

We are working as a consultant body to Sports Minister and we have no political agendas or party politics and our vision is to work for all sports and their development, said newly appointed National Sports Council (NSC) Chairman Dr. Maiya Gunasekara after their first committee meeting yesterday.

We are going to make good decisions on our sports’ future and sports bodies and sports Director General are working for sports administration.

In addition Sports Minister and the Sports Ministry are with the sports and we wanted to make collective decisions on behalf of all sports. Our plans and decisions will always submit to the Sports Minister.

Sports Director General, Sports Ministry Secretary and Sports Minister will get all decisions and our duty is to support them. Our team is very strong and we can give our plans to support the Ministry.

Sports bodies know how to work and their responsibilities and we can make plans and give instructions and easily work with Sports Director General who is also one of our committee member, added Dr. Maiya Gunasekara.

Panduka Keerthinanda pointed out how to name selection bodies for the sports and we always give correct decisions to build up our sports and always work according to Sports Act, said Keethinanda.

He also pointed out very soon Sports Minister will clear all matters and our duty is to give support to develop sports as the National Sports Council.
