Western Province identified as high-risk Dengue zone

The Western Province has been identified as a dengue high risk area and 46 percent of the country’s total dengue cases are reported from this province, said Dr. Sudath Samaraweera, director of the National Dengue Control Program today (24).

He said that the President’s Secretary Saman Ekanayake has also issued a circular to all heads of institutions, including measures to be taken to prevent this situation from becoming an epidemic situation in the Western Province.
