Wimala Jayaweera’s funeral tomorrow

Former Deputy Sports Director General Sunil Jayaweera’s wife Wimala Jayaweera passed away on Wednesday and her funeral will take place at Makola Cemetery tomorrow (26) at 3 pm.

Wimala Jayaweera who was a retired Sports Director of Sabaragamuwa University did an excellent job for more than 50 years and she was well known in the Netball field.

She has done tremendous job in various fields such as sports officer, coach, selection committee member and Sports Director of University started her career from 1970 as a sports officer at Matara also very good sports administrator one time head of the coaches at Sports Ministry and served Moratuwa University and Sabaragamuwa University as a Sports Director.

Late Wimala Jayaweera’ s remain are lying at her residence at No 122/71st cross road, Sirimangala Mawatha Makola, Kiribathgoda. (D.R.)
