The Embassy of Saudi Arabia in Sri Lanka, in collaboration with the Saudi Arabia Ministry of Islamic Affairs, organized the inaugural Al Quran Memorization Competition in Sri Lanka through the Department of Muslim Religious and Cultural Affairs.

Saudi Arabian Ambassador to Sri Lanka Khalid Hamud Al Qahtani, Special Representative of Saudi Arabia Badr Al Anasi, and Director of the Department of Muslim Religious and Cultural Affairs Z.A.M. Faizal were also present.
The students who won first, second, and third positions were awarded cash prizes.
