WOFD president Prof. Karen Flegg makes observation tour of Matugama Hospital
President of the World Organization of Family Doctors (WOFD) and Professor at the Sydney University, Australia Karen Flegg recently engaged in an observation tour of the Katugahahena, Matugama Hospital.
Professor Flegg who was in Sri Lanka to participate in a conference of this organization held here (World Organization of National College and Academic (WONCA)), arrived at the Katugahahena Hospital which became the best rural hospital in Sri Lanka during the past few years, to observe the steps taken to raise the standard of primary healthcare.
Professor Karen Flegg who met the Chief Medical Officer Ranjith Dissanayake and the staff of the Katugahahena Hospital in Matugama, observed measures taken to increase the health of rural people as well as steps engaged in to prevent and control the spread of non-communicable diseases. She also inspected whether the storage of pharmaceuticals is being carried out properly.
