Woman with 1kg heroin arrested from Modera

The woman possessing one kilogram and 21 grams of heroin was arrested around 9pm by the Colombo North Division Vice Squad, Police Media Spokesperson Senior DIG Ajith Rohana said.

The SDIG said the street value of the haul was estimated to be Rs.10 million. She was produced before the Magistrate’s Court yesterday. He said the Police seek a 7-day detention order on the suspect under the Dangerous Drugs Ordinance for questioning. He reminded that the Law provides to impose the capital punishment on any person arrested with possessing 2grams or above in quantity of heroin.
