“New suggestions and ideas are very important to uplift the country’s sports and I will aim to work together to develop sports”, said new Sports Minister Thenuka Vidanagamage yesterday at the discussions with the former National Sports Council members (NSC) at the Sports Ministry.
The Minister further said, “My aim is to develop all sports without any political influence and we have to focus more on the forthcoming Asian Games and Commonwealth Games. Especially due to this difficult period we have to work together to bring more medals at these two International events.”
The Minister also appreciated the contribution made by the former NSC and hope that the newly appointed NSC will do their good work.
