Yukthiya’ operation: over 1,000 arrested

During the special operation ‘Yukthiya’ conducted by the Sri Lanka Police and its Special Task Force (STF) in 24 hours, the following quantities of narcotics were seized.

The narcotics that were seized had 417g of heroin, 205g of methamphetamine (‘Ice’), 722 intoxicating pills, 2.88kg of cannabis and 24,203 cannabis plants.

A total of 1,038 suspects have been arrested during the operation, of which 67 suspects are being further investigated based on detention orders
