Yukthiya’ operation: over 1100 arrested

During the special operation ‘Yukthiya’ conducted by the Sri Lanka Police and its Special Task Force (STF) in 24 hours, the following quantities of narcotics were seized.

The narcotics that were seized had 287g of heroin, 246g of methamphetamine (‘Ice’), 5.4kg of cannabis, 119 narcotic pills and 19,052 cannabis plants.

A total of 1,182 suspects have been arrested during the operation, of which 44 suspects are being further investigated based on detention orders
