’Yukthiya’ operation: so far over 17,000 arrested

During the special operation ‘Yukthiya’ conducted by the Sri Lanka Police and its Special Task Force (STF) in 12days,  the following quantities of narcotics were seized.

10kgs of heroin, 06kgs of ICE drug, 05 kgs and 288 kgs of cannabis, 2,110,500 cannabis plants, 118 kgs of Mawa, and 71,271 narcotic pills.

A total of  17,837 suspects have been arrested during the operation, of which 850 suspects are being further investigated based on detention orders.
