Shevon Daniel and Vishmi Gunaratne bag top awards
Shevon Daniel of St. Joseph’s College Colombo and Vishmi Gunarahne of Rathnawali Balika Vidyalaya Gampaha were awarded School Boy Cricketer and School Girls’ Cricketer in 2023 on Tuesday.
The Sri Lanka Schools Cricket Association, in collaboration with Sri Lanka Cricket, conducted Under-19 Schools Cricket Awards 2023 on October 17 at the BMICH in Colombo. Cricket legend Muttiah Muraltheran was the chief guest. Total of over 100 awards were presented on the day, with over 1500 school cricketers (boys and girls) taking part with officials. Awards were presented for the U19 Boys Two-Day Tournament, the U19 Limited Over Tournament, and the U19 Girls Tournaments conducted during the school cricket season of 2022–23.
Vishmi Gunaratne, Sri Lanka Women National Cap of Rathnawali Balika Vidyalaya Gampaha emerged School Girl Cricketer of The Year 2023 for the second consecutive years.
Shevon Daniel, Sri Lanka Youth captain and member of the Sri Lanka Emerging squad of St. Joseph’s College, Colombo emerged School Boy Cricketer of The Year 2023.
Dunith Wellalage, Sri Lanka National cap from St. Joseph’s College, Colombo emerged School Boy Cricketer of The Year 2022.
