Death of business magnate Lalith Kotelawala

Renowned Sri Lankan businessman Lalith Kotelawala passed away at the age of 84 on Saturday. The former Chairman of Ceylinco Consolidated and the founding Chairman of Seylan Bank, he was reportedly receiving treatment at a hospital in Colombo at the time of his demise.

Kotelawala made a valuable contribution to the Sri Lankan economy by setting up a renowned business network in Sri Lanka. He was the nephew of the third Prime Minister of Ceylon, Sir John Kotelawala.
