JIA facilitates arrival of 20,825 tourists 

Jaffna International Airport (JIA) from the first month of 2023, had a total of 368 flight movements during this period.

The airport played a crucial role in facilitating the arrival of 20,825 tourists to the country, showcasing its significance as a gateway for international travelers to the Northern region.

Meanwhile in the first month of 2023, Mattala Rajapaksa International Airport (MRIA) saw the operation of 5 different airlines (charter and schedule charter), contributing to a total of 357 flight movements.

During this period, a substantial influx of 82,406 tourists arrived in the country through these flights, reflecting the airport’s importance as a gateway for international travelers.
